Friends of the Parks and Trails of St. Paul and Ramsey County

The I-35E bridge was finished this fall with the new bicycle/pedestrian trail on the east side of the bridge. On the St. Paul side, an underpass has been completed which allows pedestrians and bicyclists to bypass the ramps accessing the bridge. This has made a very safe passage for bicyclists and pedestrians. This new facility for bikes and pedestrians provides a wonderful addition to the trail system in the metro area.

The Friends of the Parks, with the help of Richard Arey, Chair of the Bicycle Advisory Board and Leon Pearson, St. Paul Public Works worked very hard to get the Minnesota Department of Transportation to provide these bike amenities while the I-35E bridge was being rebuilt.
