Hello MPR Members and Tree Donators!

A generous bequest of Paula "Sunray" Culp supplied the money for the trees donated to our parks. We teamed up with MPR to let you know that over 6,000 six foot tall trees have been planted in metro area parks through The Friends of the Parks Tribute Tree program and Annual Tree Sale Donations since 1992.

Paula Culp's bequest is also to be used for "tree gators", watering systems which are nylon bags that are placed around a young sapling to slowly release water into the earth at the base of the tree. This helps park work crews water trees quicker and more of the water gets to the tree roots which helps raise sapling survival rates.

Water Boulevard Trees, Dry Summer Conditions Are Here

A very dry spring means that boulevard trees will need care. The city cannot water the trees, (no one wants to pay for a city employee standing and watering), so please help the trees out by watering them with a slow soak. Watering your trees prevent drought damage and disease and help the value of your property.
